Structured Finance Attorney Joins Hunton Andrews Kurth; Foley Adds IP Partner 

Pryor Cashman has added Brian Sweet as a partner in its trusts + estates practice. He joins from Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler, where he was counsel.

Ian Sterling has joined Hunton Andrews Kurth as special counsel. He joins from Flagstar Bank where he was senior vice president and associate general counsel.

Armstrong Teasdale has added partner Friedrich Laub to the firm’s intellectual property practice group.

Fried Frank has expanded its tax practice with the addition of Todd Pollock as a partner. He joins from Goodwin Procter, where he was a partner in that firm’s tax group and business law department.

Cozen O’Connor has added real estate litigator Christopher Cobb as a member of its condominiums and cooperatives practice. He was formerly with Tarter Krinsky & Drogin.

Morrison Foerster has added Peter Fusco, Jae Zhou, and Frank Paz as partners in the firm’s emerging companies + venture capital group. The group will be led by Fusco, who joins as a co-chair of the ECVC group alongside Michael Glaser and Jim Krenn.

Sherry Sandler has joined Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein & Breitstone as a partner. She formerly served as senior director and associate general counsel at the New York Stock Exchange.

Lowenstein Sandler has hired two new partners: Daniel Forman, previously a partner at Ropes & Grey, is joining the firm’s capital markets & securities practice. Matthew Friedenberg joins the business litigation practice. He was formerly with Vinson & Elkins.

Nicholas Scott has joined Locke Lord as senior counsel in the firm’s regulatory and transactional insurance practice group. He joins from Ambac Financial Group where he was general counsel and chief compliance officer.

Marcio Mello Silva Baptista has joined Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney as a shareholder in the firm’s corporate practice.

Foley & Lardner has added IP attorney Brian Tomkins as a partner in the firm’s mechanical & electromechanical technologies practice group. He joins from Lerner David where he was a partner for 19 years.

Bill Patry has joined Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan as of counsel. He formerly served as senior copyright counsel at Google.

Renée Fischer has joined Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani as a partner. She joins from Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft.

Phillip Rapini has joined Phillips Lytle as chief operating officer. He previously served as chief financial officer of the Wendt Corporation where he directed that companie’s finance and human resource operations.

Barry Peek has been elected as a member of the National Academy of Arbitrators in the field of labor and employment arbitration.
